IMPORTANT NOTICE!!!                                                                     The State Athletic Committee met Friday,May 8 and voted to CANCEL all GRPA District/State Swimming, Golf and Tennis (Youth/Adult) sports for 2020 along with all youth and adult Baseball/Softball (team) sports for 2020.  The Appling Co. Recreation Dept. local baseball/softball league, Swimming (Swim Team and Lessons),Tennis, & Golf has been cancelled for 2020 season due to the Pandemic COVID-19.   Each participant for baseball/softball will receive a credit for the next sport they desire to participate. (Registration Fee: $25.00).  Due to Govenor Kemps executive order that bans gatherings for over 10 people, all Recreation Facilities,Complex, and Registration are to remain closed until further notice. Please do not go to any of the parks or facilities.  We apologize for the inconvenience. Our goal is to keep our older and younger population healthy.


Appling County Recreation Department recieved the 2019 GRPA District II Class C Agency Award and Wilton McCall, Recreation Director recieved the 2019 GRPA James Colley Professional Award!

Travel Baseball/Softball teams may practice at the Recreation Complex Baseball/Softball 

fields on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday during this season.

$100.00 Deposit (seperate from rental fee) required to reserve the building.

Part-time Recreation Assistant


The Appling Co. Recreation Dept. seeking to hire one part-time Recreation Assistant.

If you are interested, please come by the Recreation Office to pick up an application.  Applicants must be at least 21 years of age to apply.

Successful applicants will have to pass a background check and drug test.
